BIM (Building Information Management) visualization technology not only promotes the innovation in the field of construction engineering, but also brings great changes to the teaching of civil engineering courses. This paper firstly introduces the organization of BIM visualization technology in teaching and its modeling basis. Then BIM visualization technology is used to combine with practical teaching to build a virtual simulation platform, which is applied to a civil engineering class, and the two traditional civil engineering teaching classes without teaching reform are used as a control group and teaching experiments are carried out. The comparative analysis of teaching effect shows that the time consumed by BIM technology in the process of shaping the 3D simulation diagram of architectural landscape in civil engineering courses is much lower than that of the traditional analytical method, and it has a high processing efficiency. The average grade of the experimental class is 81.21, which is more than 10 points higher than that of the control class, and the overall grade of the class reaches the medium-high level. The implementation of the teaching reform students have more obvious improvement in both theoretical knowledge and applied knowledge. The questionnaire survey shows that the majority of students are able to accept the teaching of Mathematical Intelligence. 53% of the students feel that their independent learning ability and problem solving ability have been improved in the teaching of Mathematical Intelligence. 83% of the students feel that they have improved their ability to communicate and cooperate with other students to complete tasks. This shows the feasibility and effectiveness of Math Intelligence teaching in civil engineering courses.
