At present, there are problems such as the limitation of the number of people and the single teaching method and means in dance education, while virtual reality brings new opportunities for the innovation of the existing dance education. This paper analyzes the method of combining virtual reality and stage education. Secondly, based on the 3DMAX modeling method, it elaborates the process of 3D virtual stage modeling and design, and collects five visual characteristic factors in it. Using the model predictive control method to optimize the camera control state in the 3DMAX modeling method in real-time, coupled with the VRP virtual platform, the modeling method presented in this paper was developed. Then, the method of this paper is launched to evaluate the performance of virtual scene modeling, compare the level of detail of LOD, and compare and analyze the different levels with the commonly used modeling methods. In the performance of virtual scene modeling, the overall rendering efficiency of the model processed by this paper’s method is significantly improved. In the comparison with different levels of commonly used modeling methods, the modeling accuracy of this paper’s method is >98.00%, which is much higher than the rest of the methods, indicating that this paper’s method is more in line with the visualization needs of stage teaching modeling and design.
