Application Research and Teaching Reform Practice of Virtual Reality Technology in Open Education Teaching Mode

In this paper, on the basis of combing the VR teaching function, hardware equipment and virtual platform structure framework, combined with the theory of ARCS learning model, we constructed an open education teaching mode based on VR technology to realize the reform of traditional open education mode. And it is applied in teaching practice, using interview methods, questionnaire surveys, and other methods to collect data and conduct statistical analysis to explore the teaching effects of VR open education mode. The results show that in the pre- and post-test scores of the experimental class, the difference between the mean values of students’ scores is 7.45. In the dimensions of attention level, relevance level, self-confidence and interest in learning, there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class (P<0.05). Therefore, the VR open education model can enhance students’ academic performance and motivation to learn. More than 60% of teachers believe that the model can stimulate interest in learning and create an active classroom atmosphere. In the word frequency analysis, positive feedback words accounted for the majority. In summary, the research findings of this paper can aid in the modernization and reform of open education.
