This paper takes digital art display as an entry point, and analyzes the leading role of digital media art on college students’ cognition in ideological and political activities by elaborating the interactive and virtual features of digital media art. Then, this paper introduces the calculation principle of the multiple linear regression prediction model, and applies it to test the leading role of digital media art on the level of students’ ideology and politics. This paper constructs the research hypothesis that the richness of presentation content, the diversity of presentation forms, and the high degree of student participation are the three factors affecting the leading role of digital art in the level of ideological and political cognition of college students. In the regression analysis of the influencing factors leading the level of ideological and political cognition of college students, it is found that the regression coefficients of the three influencing factors of richness of presentation content, diversity of presentation forms, and high participation of students are 0.008, 0.075, and 0.021 respectively, with the lower significance P-value less than 0.05, which indicates that the three factors have a positive leading effect on the level of ideological and political cognition of college students.
