A study of the impact of the public management concept on the reform of the modern school management system

Combining the public management concept with modern school management is one of the driving forces to promote the transformation and development of schools. This paper defines three influences of public management concepts on universities, designs a multiple regression model, and screens and optimizes the parameters of relevant independent variables. The three groups of administrators, in-service teachers and enrolled students of a university are selected as survey respondents, and electronic questionnaires are distributed to collect data related to the influence factors of the public management concept in the reform of the modern school management system. For the sample data, descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, correlation test, and regression analysis were used step by step to conduct the study. The mean values of the 18 measures of the three independent variable dimensions of public management philosophy are all greater than 3. Further analysis of the standard deviation of the three independent variable dimensions is around 1, which means that the subjects’ attitudes towards public management philosophy are generally maintained at the neutral-biased level of agreement with the public management philosophy, and there is less variability. The minimum and maximum values of the correlation coefficients between the three independent variable dimensions and the dependent variable were 0.249 and 0.617, respectively, and there was a positive correlation. Regression analysis found that the β-value is greater than 0, and the p-value is less than 0.01, and the three dimensions of the independent variables have a significant positive effect on the dependent variable “reform of the modern school management system”.
