Analysis of synergies between vocational education and regional economic development

Vocational education and regional economic development is an important element of regional synergistic development and a key factor in promoting regional economic development. In this paper, on analyzing the mechanism of synergistic symbiosis between vocational education and regional economic development, the evaluation index system of vocational education and regional economic development level is constructed respectively with reference to the existing research. The provincial panel data of Hunan Province from 2012 to 2023 is selected as the research object, and the level of vocational education and regional economic development is measured by entropy weight method. Then the coupling coordination degree model and Dagum Gini coefficient method were introduced to analyze the change trend of the coupling coordination degree of vocational education and regional economic development, and the contribution of the decomposition of regional differences in the coupling coordination degree was analyzed. Finally, an econometric model of vocational education on regional economic development is constructed based on the regression model as a way to explore the degree of influence of vocational education on regional economic development. It is found that the development of vocational education has a significant positive impact on regional economic development at the 1% level, and the influence coefficient of vocational education in ChangZhuTan and Xiangnan regions is significantly higher than that in western Xiangxi and Dongting Lake regions. The coupling coordination status of vocational education and regional economic development in Hunan Province during the period of 2012 to 2023 is transitioned from a moderate dislocation to a mild dislocation, and the coupling coordination degree is in a steady upward trend. Therefore, the higher the development level of vocational education, the greater its influence on regional economic development, and regional economic development will further promote the development level of vocational education, and there is a significant synergistic development effect between the two.
